Barbara L. Dean is the Director of Executive Services at the American College of Surgeons. Ms. Dean has held several key positions at the American College of Surgeons during her 40+ years of service. She has been in her present position working closely with the College's leadership since 2000. She served as the first Executive Director of the Council on Surgical & Perioperative Safety (CSPS) from February 2007-April 2009, and was involved with the group during its formative years (2004-2007) before the CSPS became an independent organization.
